Flamboyant city lawyer has fired a salvo at the State over its pursuit against Mombasa-based tycoon Ali Punjani.
Kipkorir on Monday wondered why Punjani was not summoned during former President Mwai Kibaki's regime despite donating millions of shillings in fundraisers on a weekly basis.
He castigated the state for failing to interrogate those allegedly donating more than they are earning.
"Every weekend during Kibaki’s Presidency, Ali Punjani donated millions in Fundraisings. Why didn’t the DEEP STATE ask him where he was getting the Millions? The System knows the income of every Kenyan. Why don’t they question those that give out more than they earn legitimately?" tweeted Kipkorir.
Kipkorir's sentiments come after Punjani's Nyali home in Mombasa was raided by a contingent of police officers.
He has since been directed to surrender to police for questioning.
According to Mombasa Police Commander Johnstone Ipara who led different police units in camping at Punjani's Nyali home on Monday evening, his continued absence could force the police to break into his house.
“We will not leave until we search this house top to bottom and establish that there are no drug substances inside,” said Ipara.
The operation to wipe out drugs in Mombasa launched by Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has seen 18 people arrested to help in investigations.
Bofu Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Ahmed Salama is among the arrested 18 suspects.
