Kamukunji Member of Parliament Yusuf Hassan has condemned the brutal murders of a popular skater in Majengo, Nairobi.
In a tweet on Friday, the lawmaker said that the shooting of the young man is a shocking incident.
He called upon the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to ensure justice is realized for the young man after the ordeal.
According to the MP, the demise of the skater is a big blow not only to his immediate family but also an entire constituency.
He asked the police to remain law-abiding when it comes to handling matters of security in the country.
“Ahmed Majid aka Hemed, a popular young skater, who was killed by a policeman in Majengo yesterday was laid to rest at the Kariokor cementry. I condemn his murder and call on the IGP to immediately suspend this officer from duty, & he should be arrested & charged with murder,” Yusuf Hassan tweeted.
The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has revealed that the probe into the matter has already kicked off and the persons behind the incident will be arrested and charged in a court of law.
“IPOA yesterday launched investigations into the incident in which a minor was killed allegedly by the police in Majengo ^DD @InsecurityKE @Asmali77 @_photogrammer @IJMKenya @OgaraJnr @ouma_stephen @RasnaWarah @Mukami_Mungai @mukuru_cjc @insider_africa @ChurchoRao @born_jovial,” IPOA said in a statement through its Twitter handle.
