The security chief on Tuesday raised alarm over increasing cases of theft targeting poor riders, adding that security officers are ready to take action.

He condemned the Tuesday 1am incident where thugs robbed a bodaboda rider his motorbike in Chebilat, Borabu Sub-County.

"Thugs stealing motorbikes from bodaboda riders should know their days are numbered. Anyone caught attacking and robbing riders their motorbike will be thrown to jail without mercy.

"Under my leadership I will work around the clock with the help of other security officers to flush out thieves from the county," he said.

Mariba warned youths against venturing into criminal activities saying the law will not spare any of them.

He appealed to bodaboda riders to be vigilant and report any suspect to police officers for quick legal action to be taken.

The county security boss further said youths who have completed school should venture into small businesses to earn a living instead of engaging in crime.

"A search has been intensified to find a motorbike which was stolen from Chebilat in Borabu District. I urge riders to cooperate with police to nab the thieves," he added.
