Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto is keen to inherit Jubilee support from Rift Valley through his CCM party, which is reportedly gaining popularity.

And the recruitment of businessman Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki is seemingly yielding fruits, with the millionaire taking advantage of Jubilee rifts to popularise CCM.

Buzeki is set to be unveiled as the party's Secretary General, the most powerful slot after that of party leader Isaac Ruto. Preparations are ongoing to officially install Buzeki at a function that will soon be spearheaded by Ruto in Eldoret.

Last month, Buzeki ditched Deputy President William Ruto, accusing some of his handlers of plotting his downfall before 2022 polls. He specifically named Ruto's aide Farouk Kibet as the man behind the scheme.

“They have told me that even if I get I million votes in the Jubilee nominations they will not allow the party to give me its ticket in Uasin Gishu," Buzeki said.

“I have decided to go away to God and the people so that we save this country from the real cartels that are evil,” the politician said.

The flamboyant businessman on Friday hosted several delegates from South Rift at his Uasin Gishu home. CCM will open its first offices in North Rift in Eldoret.

“We want to warn those attempting to incite communities along tribal and clan lines in Uasin Gishu that we are saying no to disunity. They should focus on selling their agenda,” he said, threatening to name politicians fanning ethnic hate.

“We elected President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy Ruto because they talked about improving health, roads and water supply, not Tangatanga and kieleweke. Elected leaders are now aligning themselves in the two factions as a scapegoat for their failure to deliver on their mandates,” Buzeki said.
