Singer Naseeb Abdul popularly known as Diamond Platinumz shocked his fans when he was performing at a new year concert dubbed 10 Years of Diamond Platinumz at his Kigoma home area.
The self-proclaimed Simba received a phone call from President Magufuli while performing live on stage.
President Magufuli addressed him as a real man and admitted that he is one of his loyal fans and the love for his music is unmeasurable.
"Mi nakupenda sana na napenda watu wa kigoma pia, napenda miziki yako pia na nawatakia heri ya mwaka mpya na mungu awabariki sana." Magufuli said amid cheers.
The crowd that had attended the concert could not hold after they heard President Magufuli talking to Diamond. This was the first time in the history of Tanzania.
Diamond on his part assured President Magufuli a second term in office as he urged his fans to vote for him come the elections time.
He took to Instagram to congratulate President Magufuli for being a good example. He was humbled by his call and thanked him for creating time despite having a busy schedule.
"It was an absolute honour & great esteem to receive a call from our President Dr. John Pombe Magufuli, congratulating me on my work ethic whilst I was performing yesternight on my Homecoming show in KIGOMA.... Words simply can't describe how grateful & blessed I am for that Mr. President....Thank you for being a great Example and phenomenal Leader President." Diamond Platinumz wrote.
Magufuli finished by entertaining the revellers with a traditional song as he ended the call.
