Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Director of Communications Philip Etale on Tuesday highlighted how he was mistreated when he appeared before the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC).
In his facebook page, Etale, who honoured summons by NCIC concerning a social media post he sent in November concerning Kibra parliamentary by-elections, also got arrested.
''I honoured the summon to appear before the NCIC. I expected fair treatment. I was instead mistreated. The investigations officer (a lady) was arrogant and disrespectful. My lawyer Hon. Anthony Oluoch was tough, he stood for me, he was courageous. They wanted me arrested, but Hon. Oluoch stood firm, guided by the law. He told them off. My TRUE friends came through for me. I will forever be indebted to them, now, on my death bed and in the grave. Thank you. I love you all. May God Bless you,'' wrote Etale.
The ODM boss decried lack of proper treatment from this governmental body.
Were it not for Mathare MP Anthony Oluoch, who is his lawyer, Etale noted that he could have been arrested.
The NCIC summoned Etale after he sent out a social media post that many said it propelled ethnic hatred.
“We have wound up our public campaigns in Kibra. We have declared that all HOTELS should be closed. From tomorrow, the process of FUMIGATION will begin to clear cockroaches, bedbugs, mosquitoes and other insects from the bedroom. Hapo kitaeleweka,” read the post.
