Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has reiterated that President Uhuru Kenyatta has no intention to cling to power after 2022.
Speaking during an interview with NTV on Tuesday, Kuria said that Uhuru has said time repeatedly that he will be going home after he completes his second term in office.
The lawmaker argued that it is important for leaders to give Uhuru ample time so that he can complete the projects he had started in a peaceful manner. Kuria asserted that the attacks on the President are geared towards derailing him from fulfilling his Big Four Agenda.
"You know it is not fair, it is not right to attack someone who has said it clearly 2022 I am going home. So you expected every Atwoli who speaks that the President is going to dispute? To dispute or debunk for a President who is very busy, It is really unfair," he said in part.
Kuria also said that he has no problem with the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) but wants it to address the issues facing the taxpayers and not leadership positions in government.
The legislator affirmed that he will never support the creation of the post of an executive Prime Minister in the government.
