National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale now says that he is not offended when fellow politicians fire shots at Deputy President William Ruto.
The DP has been dealing with attacks from opposition lawmakers and those allied to president Uhuru Kenyatta, who have been questioning his leadership abilities and integrity.
However, Duale on Monday said that all these have everything to do with Ruto's presidential ambitions, adding that the critics are out to scuttle his presidential bid for the 2022 polls.
He said that he is actually happy with the group, as it will have exploited its attacks by 2021, which will allow the DP to freely proceed to woo Kenyans to rally behind his bid.
"They have tried to soil William Ruto's name and we are saying that its is good as we want them to proceed spoiling our name and run out of what to say by 2022 Wamejaribu kila njia kuchafua jina ya William Ruto na sisi tunasema hiyo ni mzuri kwa sababu tunataka watuchafulie jina mapema tukifika 2021 hawana kusema)," he said.
The Garissa Township lawmaker spoke in an exclusive interview with Citizen Television's Francis Gachuri.
He further rubbished claims of division in the Jubilee Party, dismissing claims that there exist, two groups, one allied to Ruto and the other to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to Duale, that is a narrative by anti-Ruto forces, who don't wish well for him, and who are now turning into fake prophets to make bad predictions about his ambitions.
"Those are rivals and false prophets who don't wish the Deputy President well (Wale ni mahasidi na manabii wa uwongo ambao hawatakii makamu wa rais mema)," he added.
Ruto's fiercest critics include ODM leader Raila Odinga, who only three days ago called for a probe to establish the source of his finances.
