Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has been arrested.
The arrest come after the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin ordered for their arrest of the governor and his wife Susan Wangari Ndung’u are nowhere to be found.
According to detectives, the county boss and his wife could not be traced at their known residences after the directive to arrest them over Sh588 million graft probe.
The DPP has now ordered the governor to present himself to the headquarters to record a statement over the accusations leveled against him.
Haji has said that he has enough evidence against the county boss and other 12 suspects over the irregular procurement at the county level.
The county boss is being sought over alleged embezzlement of Ksh. 588million public funds.
In a statement issued to the media house on Friday, Haji said that he has proven beyond doubt that the county boss has a case to answer in relation to the administration duties. The detectives have already arrested three suspects linked to the saga.
The suspects are Charles Mbuthia Chege, Joyce Ngina Musyoka, and Simon Kabacho Kangethe.
The first-term county boss is facing charges of abuse of office, colluding with his other accomplices to engage in fraud and failure to comply with the regulations of procurement.
