Bonchari MP John Oyioka said the teachers and civil servants who are chasing census jobs should be ashamed for competing with jobless youths.

"I personally do not understand why teachers and civil servants can chase census jobs meant for jobless youths. I will engage the Kisii County Commissioner Godfrey Kigochi to know how some employed people found themselves on the list of those seeking census jobs," he said.

According to him, the County Commissioner must provide answers following the rogue recruitment exercise.

The vocal legislator promised to ensure civil servants and teachers do not get the jobs while jobless youths are left idle in the villages.

He appealed to youths in the constituency to be calm as he follows up the rogue recruitment exercise adding that justice must be done to the jobless youths.

"It is shameful that people with jobs are giving unnecessary competition to local jobless youths to chase census jobs. I will not condone impunity throughout my tenure because I believe in youths," he added.

He dismissed claims that he is the one who helped civil servants, teachers who are his supporters arguing that he is a transparent leader on employment matters.

Oyioka was speaking on Saturday at Gesusu SDA church in Gesusu Ward, Nyaribari Masaba Constituency.
