Renowned lawyer and socio-political commentator Ahmednasir Abdullahi has weighed in on the charges being faced by some Jubilee governors that have led to arrests and the subsequent arraignment in court.
Writing on Twitter on Thursday night, the flamboyant lawyer held the view that the governing Jubilee party governors would only avert the prospect of arrests if they rally behind the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
"For JUBILEE Governors to (a)avoid impeachment (b)avoid arrest & prosecution they MUST pledge loyalty to ODM, BABA & Hon Junet Mohamed & support ODM's BBI..this is the REALPOLITIK of Kenya today, " the high flying lawyer wrote in his Thursday night tweet.
Ahmednasir's strong words come in the wake of a number of Jubilee county bosses facing corruption-related charges.
They include the Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu who was impeached on Wednesday and the Nairobi governor Mike Sonko.
Both have claimed that the charges they are facing in court are politically motivated and are part of a wider scheme to soil their names.
There has been the charge that supporters of the BBI and close allies of the former prime minister and President Uhuru Kenyatta have not been arrested over corruption.
