After ten years at Kilimani estate as Citizen TV news anchor, Hussein Mohamed will host his last political show on Tuesday with two familiar faces expected.
Early this month, Mohamed announced his exit from one of Kenya's biggest media house, although he did not give hint over his next destination.
“I have decided to take a break after October In Sha Allah to concentrate on other matters. Loved the fans, the critics and everything in between. See you soon,” he said.
On Tuesday, Hussein Mohamed said he will host National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi and his Senate Majority Leader counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen.
The two, who represent different political views, will be discussing anticipated changes in the Kenyan law with the system of government after 2022 lined up for discussion.
"Here goes the final one.....Tonight on #Newsnight @citizentvkenya @kipmurkomen @MbadiHon," he tweeted.
Mbadi is a close ally of Raila Odinga while Murkomen is the right hand man for Dr William Ruto, the Deputy President.
Mr Odinga has openly supported Parliamentary system of government while DP William Ruto has expressed reservations ahead of unveiling of BBI report.
“Parliamentary system is generally suitable for plural societies; that is societies in which the political landscape is composed of diverse cultural, religious, ethnic, racial and regional interests, and that is what Kenya is,” he said.
Lawmakers allied to DP William Ruto last week opposed the parliamentary system, arguing that it will discriminate people from Mt Kenya.
“When we talk about inclusivity, it must be reflected even in representation in Parliament and other spheres. We must have correct number of seats in Parliament that represent our population,” the leaders said in a statement read by Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni.
In his News Night show, Mohamed has hosted top politicians among them DP William Ruto, Raila Odinga and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
