The locals now have a reason to smile after several years of the water shortage. They got various plans to utilize the drilled water including commercial use.

"If the expected water will be sufficient, I am planning to soon open up a car wash. I don't know how to appreciate Tuwei for making this project a success," said Elvis Kipkogei a resident of Ndalat.

Some other residents feel the project should be extended to other villages and if possible tap water to various households. They say, drilling for Ndalat traders is not enough as this one alone cannot fend for all villages in the area.

"Villagers need water too. The county government should drill a number of boreholes which will boost small agricultural activities in the villages." Edward Kipkorir Too said

The residents and traders had earlier cited difficulties they experienced due to the water shortage problem. Water is an essential part of the ecosystem, they revealed that businesses had failed and exposed them to risk of getting water-borne diseases.
