Nyamira Governor John Nyangarama has announced that 24 agricultural officers have graduated with certificates in soil testing.
The county boss said that the officers who were funded by his government will be testing soils across Nyamira before farmers embarked on planting.
The graduation of the officers was as a result of constant complaints from farmers over poor harvests.
“My government in cooperation with Center of Bio-science initiative is going to help county farmers in testing their soil before they plant because already 24 agriculture officers have graduated for the testing of soil," said Nyagarama.
He added that the initiative was meant to help farmers improve their yields.
“We want to improve agriculture across the county so that our region is identified for the best produce ,” added Nyagarama.
