A 24-year-old man in Ruiru is in police custody after being linked to the death of his 22-year-old sister.
The deceased is a fourth-year Civil Engineering student at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture Technology.
The suspect allegedly chopped the body of his sister and hid the body parts in the ceiling of their parents’ Kahawa Sukari house on January 25.
According to Ruiru area police boss Isaac Thuranira, the two had been alone in the house at the time the student disappeared.
“The parents waited for her return in vain. That is when they reported the disappearance at Kahawa Sukari Police post four days later,” he said as reported by Nation.
The anxious parents were forced to report the matter to police after trying to reach her and finding the phone switched off.
Police then launched investigations while the parents began another search campaign through social media.
Sources to spoke to the Nation said that police decided to question family members and search the house.
When the suspect was being probed, police officers discovered blood stains on the wall and decided to take a look in the ceiling only to discover a human body in a bucket.
The head of the deceased was later discovered in a thicket.
