Kenyans have mourned the death of Kibra MP Ken Okoth. The lawmaker was undergoing treatment in a Nairobi hospital where he was rushed to after his condition worsened.
Okoth, who was battling colorectal cancer was taken for treatment after the condition changed at night.
The MP had stayed away from the public glare for some months before he jetted back into the country from France where he was undergoing treatment.
He made his first appearance in public 10 days ago after returning home when appeared at Kibra Music Fest at Moi Girls School, Nairobi.
State House also hailed him for his bravery after he was diagnosed with cancer some years back.
“Allow me to mention a great son of Kenya, the Member of Parliament for Kibra Constituency Mheshimiwa Ken Okoth who has recently returned to the country after months of treatment in France,” read a statement issued by Spokesperson Kanze Dena, as quoted by the Standard.
The MP has been getting immense love from Kenyans who have been impressed by his determination.
The lawmaker spoke about his condition in public without fear as he inspired those affected with the condition.
He died at the age of 41.
Leaders have already started to send messages of condolence to the family of the deceased.
