Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday presided over the 6th graduation ceremony of the Management University of Africa, Kisaju Campus in Kajiado County.
The deputy president who was a guest of honour asked the university and other universities across the nation to be putting more emphasis on research.
''We urge universities to rededicate themselves to research because this will spark waves of innovation and develop homegrown solutions that will make the difference in industry, agribusiness, healthcare and other pivotal sectors of our economy and society,'' said DP Ruto.
Ruto acknowledged the universities efforts in making sure that students are equipped with knowledge that helps them in building their future lives.
More so, Ruto noted that when a student is equipped with knowledge, he/she will be of great help to the nation as a whole, in pushing forward the economy of the country.
At the campus, Ruto also launched the Kisaju health facility.
The deputy president has been on the forefront in advocating for education across the country.
He has on various occasions called on various factions in the country to help make the education sector a clean and good institution for students.
Ruto was accompanied by Kajiado County governor Joseph Ole Lenku during the events.
