President Uhuru Kenyatta showed up unexpectedly for a homecoming party for Gender Affairs PS Safina Kwekwe in Kinango, Kwale County.
The Head of State was in the process of inspecting a road project when he noticed a function that was going on.
There were flags which convinced him that it was a government function so he decided to barge in.
The curiosity to know what was going on is what drove him to the function only to find that it was a homecoming party for PS Safina.
"I came to monitor the progress of a road construction here in Kinango. During that exercise, I saw a hoisted Kenyan flag and a crowd of people in this homestead. I said I wanted to know why there was what seemed like a formal convention here. So, I came. Where there is a hoisted flag, the Government is represented, and I am the leader of the Government. So, I had to know what was going on," President Uhuru said .
Uhuru expressed his gratitude to the residents of Kinango for giving the Kenyan people a focused Principal Secretary.
He gave a donation of one million shillings to help the construction of a local school.
"I, therefore, give my personal contribution of Sh1 million, which will be used in that project,” he said to a thunderous round of applause.
