Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said that he will be happy to see the Independent Boundaries and Election Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati and his team leave office after the adoption of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Speaking on Saturday at the third BBI rally at Mama Ngina Waterfront Park in Mombasa, Kalonzo said that the BBI is unstoppable.
He noted that there are changes that the report recommends for a better nation.
The Former Vice President said that he is behind the report because it entails changing the structure form of government including the restructuring of IEBC.
"I'm happy Chebukati and his team would go home. Let's give them a round of applause as we bid them farewell."(Mimi ninafurahi kwamba akina Chebukati wataenda nyumbani. Tuwapigie makofi ya kusema kwaheri Chebukati)" Kalonzo said amid cheers from the crowd.
Kalonzo argued that the adoption of the report will mark a new era.
During the meeting, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen changed his tune and said he is ready to support the report to the latter.
He also noted that Kenyans must be prepared for a referendum after President Kenyatta agreed to work with ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga before 2022.
