Women rights advocate and Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo refused to publicly endorse one of the five remaining contestants in Ms President Reality TV show on Wednesday.
The third term MP instead lauded all the finalists during 'Presidential debate' at Catholic University, which saw the ladies take on one another ahead of July 31st when the winner is expected to be announced.
In an interview after the debate, Ms Odhiambo said the competition will encourage more women to join elective politics in the male dominated Africa.
"Whichever side it goes, all these girls have done well. It takes courage to do what they have done and I thank all of them and organisers," she said.
But Irene Mayaka, the ODM nominated MCA from Nyamira, was endorsed by dozens of leaders from Nyamira who had attended the event.
Speaker Moffat Teya expressed confidence that Ms Mayaka, will be crowned champion, arguing that her resilience was worth to be emulated.
"I saw her patience and resilience when she was fighting to join the assembly. She's smart and confident. I have no doubt that she will carry the day," Teya told the writer.
Others who accompanied her include MCAs George Mosiori, Irene Sese, Charles Barongo and a number of County Assembly workers.
Also in the race are Umulkher Mohammed from Garissa, Nereah Amondi from Homa Bay, Betty Adera of Nairobi and Waruguru Kiai from Nyeri.
