The outspoken legislator recounted how officers from the General Service Unit (GSU) lobbed teargas canisters at the National Super Alliance (NASA) politicians as they engaged the feared law enforcement officers in running battles in the Central Business District.

"We were also tired. When I woke up, I just wanted to spend time alongside my husband because I had not seen him for quite some time but we would be told to go to Moi Avenue where teargas was being thrown. (Hata sisi tulikuwa tumechoka. Kila siku nikiamka tu nataka kupumzika karibu na my husband hata mimi nione uso wake ju sijamuona kwa wakati na ninaambiwa tu leo teargas ni Moi Avenue.)," the Mbita legislator said.

Millie Odhiambo was part of the politicians who would invade the CBD to protest against the IEBC and later to protest the inclusion of Raila Odinga in a repeat presidential election.

The MP hit out at those disparaging the handshake for what she said was misleading the country that it was about 2022 presidential politics.

She hailed the handshake for restoring a semblance of peace in the country and affording Kenyans the opportunity to do business.

Mille Odhiambo called on central Kenya politicians to heed President Uhuru's call for them to work for the electorate in stead of engaging in politics.
