Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has congratulated former legislator Jebii Kilimo on the new State appointment.
The former legislator was on Tuesday appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta as the Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture.
In his tweet, the Leader of Majority in the Senate wished Chebii all the best as she prepares to take up her new job.
"On behalf of the people of Elgeyo Marakwet County I Congratulate Hon.Linah Kilimo on her appointment as CAS Agriculture & Cooperatives. Godspeed as you serve the Republic," Murkomen tweeted.
Kilimo served as the MP for Marakwet East constituency from 2002 to 2012.
She will now be part of the team that will help the head of state consolidate his legacy as his second and final term winds down.
President Kenyatta announced on Tuesday that one of his priorities in the remainder of his term will be ensuring that farmers across the country get more money in their pockets.
As the CAS in the Agriculture Ministry, Kilimo will be instrumental in ensuring that the president reaches that goal and puts a smile on the faces of farmers.
