Renowned journalist and television presenter Jeff Koinange has fulfilled the promise he made to the late Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth two years ago.
In a Facebook post on Saturday evening, Koinange revealed that the former Kibra legislator challenged him to build a library for the kids in the constituency.
He took up the challenge and went on to show that he is not just a man of words but also of action.
The former CNN correspondent obliged and returned to the constituency to stack the library's shelves with books.
He has announced plans to have the library renamed The Ken Okoth Memorial Library.
"Folks...Almost TWO years ago, former KIBRA MP, the LATE Ken Okoth CHALLENGED me on the BENCH to build a LIBRARY for the kids at MBAGATHI High School!!...He called it the "JEFF KOINANGE LIBRARY"...Today, we have started STACKING the shelves with books and on TOP of that...RENAME the library the "KEN OKOTH MEMORIAL LIBRARY"...Btw you can Donate books anytime....Spread THE WORD!!" he posted.
Okoth died in July after a long battle with cancer.
