Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has been warned against sabotaging President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Renowned lawyer Donald Kipkorir urged Kuria to revisit history and observe that all those who tried to undercut kings led themselves to self-destruction.
The lawyer accused the MP of being a 'cheerleader' of Uhuru's critics who have been out to delegitimize him and thwart his legacy.
"Moses Kuria is the MP of President Uhuru Kenyatta .. But it seems he has decided to be a cheerleader of those wanting to delegitimize and undermine the President ... Moses Kuria needs to read books of Shakespeare and Ancient Rome: Undermining the King leads to insanity or worse," Kipkorir tweeted on Sunday.
However, in a quick rejoinder, Kuria scolded the lawyer, insinuating his sentiments meant there was more than meets the eye.
"Worse like death? You have a hint? How long do I have to live?" posed the second-time MP.
Kipkorir's remarks came barely hours after Kuria asked Uhuru and his handshake partner Raila Odinga to quit active politics, arguing their retirement was what will bring peace in the country, and not the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) which they have been pushing.
"We had been told that BBI when we hold elections we will not have violence. (Tulikuwa tumeambiwa eti BBI tukichaguana hakutakuwa na vita). You dont need that. Although we will pass it. I am telling the president, the only way there will be peace in Kenya is If you and Raila Odinga retire and go home, that is a sure bet," he said.
