Speaking to members of the press on Wednesday, Governor Samboja revealed the meeting's agenda.

He revealed that the impasse between his administration and the Members of County Assembly (MCAs) was deeply discussed in the closed-door meeting.

Samboja also revealed that he told the former prime minister where his administration was with the collection of signatures required to petition the President Uhuru Kenyatta, as required by law, to dissolve the county administration to pave the way for fresh polls.

"We have discussed in depth mainly issues to do with what is happening in Taita Taveta. We have had the chance to reiterate our position and we have told him that we have met the threshold of required signatures.(Tumezungumza kwa undani hasa maswala pia yanayoendelea pale Taita Taveta. Tumepata fursa ya kumwelezea toka tukutane mara ya mwisho na kufikia sasa na ni wazi kwamba msimamo wetu tumemwelezea kwamba tulifikisha ile threshold ya signatures zenye zilikuwa zinahitajika almost a week ago), " the Taita Taveta County boss said.

The meeting appears to set the stage for elections in Taita Taveta given the failure of the warring parties to reach an amicable and compromise solution to the impasse that threatens to grind service delivery in the county to a halt.
