Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has been praised following beefed up security in Kisii County.
Speaking at Gusii stadium on Saturday during the official opening of the 40th edition of the Kenya Communications Sports Organizations (KECOSO), Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi attributed beefed security in the region to CS Matiang'i's hard work in the Interior docket.
"I want to assure everyone participating in the KECOSO games and all visitors who will visit Kisii County that Matiang'i being the Interior docket boss has done a good job ensuring that police officers are working around the clock to provide tight security day and night across the county," noted Maangi.
The Deputy Governor said all visitors will be safe during the KECOSO games period and they are free to walk, interact and network in the county.
Maangi further appealed to police officers to be vigilant and deal with criminals who may take advantage of the increased number of visitors in the county to steal from visitors.
"Matiang'i has deployed enough police officers in Kisii to intensify patrols. The security of all visitors is guaranteed," he stated.
The KECOSO games were officially opened by Erick Kiraithe, the Principal Administrative Secretary of ICT on behalf of the ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru.
