Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen now wants partisan individuals barred from being masters of ceremony in national events.
Murkomen who doubles up as the Senate majority leader had accused Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed of running the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) launch program in a partisan manner.
In a Facebook post, Wednesday night, the outspoken Jubilee party lawmaker called on those responsible for organising national events to ensure that only decorous individuals are invited.
"In future a national function of today’s magnitude must have a master of ceremony who is not a partisan player with parochial interests. The CS and PS interior must also invite persons to such functions who have the decorum, behavior and attitude befitting a state function and reflecting Kenya Mpya. Not hired and programmed hecklers and goons who reflect the bad image we are trying to overcome. We shall however stay the course for the sake of future generations. God bless," Murkomen's Facebook post read in part.
In his rant at the Bomas of Kenya, the Senate majority leader appeared to fault those who mobilised the hostile members of the audience that attended the event.
President Uhuru Kenyatta officially launched the BBI report on Wednesday, urging Kenyans to take time to read its contents before taking a position.
