The former KANU point man is set to appear in court to face land fraud charges amounting to Sh50 million on Monday, as well as obtaining security by false pretence.

The former minister is accused of committing the crimes between 1992 and 2015.

Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi on Thursday said that he is studying the two applications, one filed before the Supreme Court, after which the accused will appear before him.

Jirongo is further facing charges of uttering a cause document, making a document without authority and linking the late Jonathan Moi to the land dispute, reports the Standard.

The accused who was to appear before the court on Thursday is further accused of cajoling the Post Bank Credit Limited to accept bank charges for land registered under Soy Developers Limited on September 25, 1992.

He has since filed an application in a bid to have the Supreme Court overturn the lower appellate court's ruling that he take pleas in the case.

Jirongo was in September last year again in court for failing a Sh20 million debt owed to a businessman.
