Mr Gachoka has been critical of the Deputy President William Ruto and his supporters mainly campaigning under the tag Tangatanga.

In a tweet on Sunday, Gachoka, however, did not name those he believes will be arrested or even the reason for being detained.

"Am not a lawyer but Kenya will jail some people soon!," he claimed in a tweet which he tagged lawyers Paul Muite and Ahmednasir Abdullahi.

Mr Gachoka has been vocal in the team supporting the Building Bridges Initiative report, which was initiated by Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

But in a quick rejoinder, Abdullahi dismissed the assertions, arguing that only a country cherishing dictatorship can do that.

”Jailing "some people" without due process is very easy. You just lock up those the SYSTEM doesn't like and throw away the keys. That is what happens in China, North Korea, Tanzania and other dictatorships," he wrote.

Kenya has been a democratic state since 1992 when retired President Daniel Moi allowed the introduction of pluralism.
