Cancer can kill in a short span when not diagnosed in a timely fashion. Lack of awareness and irregular screening are the top reasons why people fall victim to cancers.
Here are the type of cancers that kill so fast as highlighted by Naveed Saleh, MD, MS, a biologist and physician;
1. Lung cancer
Cases of people succumbing to this scourge have been reported. In this year, about 228,150 people have been diagnosed with this disease across the world and the number of deaths that have recorded is 142,670 people.
Smoking is the leading causing factor of this malady.
2. Colorectal cancer
It has been ranked among deadly cancers with over 51,020 projected death cases reported. However, this cancer is highly treatable at stage one. The survival rate for people with it at stage one is 90 per cent. It is usually a recommendation you go for screening, that's colonoscopy to establish whether you are in good shape free of cancer.
3. Breast cancer
It has also been claiming the lives of many people and it is common. Cases of people passing on due to this cancer have been increasing with every passing day. Reports had it that, in 2019, about 268,600 people have been diagnosed with it. So far, only 41,760 deaths have been reported.
