Narok Senator Ole Kina Ledama has said that he fully supports the three-tier system of government amid Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rallies to popularize the report.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Monday, Ledama said that change is inevitable.
He noted that the current county governors have no reason to fight for the positions of regional governments because the country has no money to pay them. He argued that there is a need for discipline in different levels of governance if the country has to realize its development.
" I am in support of three-tier Government, we have to look beyond the reasoning that this is a selfish need by current Governors, who tells you they will qualify for the regional Government positions? Kenya has money, what we need is discipline," he said.
On his part, Mathare MP Anthony Oluoch, who spoke on the same platform, said that the Mombasa BBI meeting revealed the problems of the residents.
He also argued that there is need for more of these forums so that leaders can know the needs of the people.
"The big takeaway from BBI forum in Mombasa was that people from Coastal Region affirm the need for a system of Government that resonates with what was called “Majimbo”," he said.
