Khalwale mocked ODM party leader Raila Odinga his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka and Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli for allegedly trying to force Uhuru to cling to power after 2022.

Referring to them as con artists, the former lawmaker accused the trio of 'enticing' the Head of State to continue staying in power for selfish gains.

"Congratulations Your Execellency! And how the con artists tried to entice you! Raila Odinga (with tongue in check) called you, my brother, Atwoli said you are too young to retire, and Kalonzo Musyoka asked you to be our president for life! Wakora! Bure kabisa!" he tweeted on Wednesday.

Speaking in Nairobi when he commissioned Nairobi Expressway, Uhuru denied he was using the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) to create a position for himself after the 2022 polls.

He said BBI, which was established following his March 9, 2018 handshake with Raila, was meant to unite Kenyans and ensure future elections do not result into violence.

"I don't want any work, I am tired. BBI will ensure that Kenyans do not spill blood (Mimi sitaki kazi mimi nimechoka. BBI ni kuhakikisha ya kuwa hakuna mKenya atamwaga damu katika nchi yetu)," Uhuru said.

The President is on record saying he was ready to go home after serving his second and final term despite pressure from a section of politicians to extend his rule.

"I'm not interested in serving another term. I will not take up the chance even if everyone wanted me to," he said during an interview with CNN about a year ago.

"I am not seeking to change the Constitution to cling unto power," Uhuru added.
