Political analyst Harman Manyora says Deputy President William Ruto is keen to prove a point in Kibra whether McDonald Mariga wins or not.
Kibra residents will on Thursday elect their MP who will take over from the late Ken Okoth, who succumbed to cancer in July this year.
In an interview with the Nation on Tuesday, Manyora said Dr Ruto wants to prove a point that we can still campaign anywhere in the country.
Further, he said, Ruto is also keen to prove that Mr Odinga is no longer strong as he used to be, adding that he's causing 'havoc in Baba's bedroom'.
“He wants to prove that he is a politician beyond the Rift Valley. That he can campaign anywhere in this country,” he said.
“The better way to prove this is to go right to Baba’s bedroom as they are saying and to cause havoc. So it is really a matter of life and death to these two gentlemen.”
Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir has been tasked with the mobilisation of agents who will man Mr Mariga’s votes on Thursday.
“The agents will be paid handsomely and will remain vigilant to ensure Mariga’s rightful votes get into his basket,” a source privy to the Jubilee campaigns told the Nation.
On Sunday, Mr Odinga dismissed claims that he has asked for reinforcement, adding that 'there is nothing wrong with inviting friends to his bedroom'.
Governors Anne Waiguru, Kivutha Kibwana, Charity Ngilu, Alfred Mutua among others pitched tent in Kibra to campaign for Imran Okoth of ODM.
There presence could however lead to a possible coalition ahead of 2022, with Raila's spokesman Dennis Onyango hinting at the possibility of the union.
