A section of Kenyan social media users has expressed outrage and disappointment over the appointment of former Othaya Member of Parliament Mary Wambui as the chairperson National Employment Authority.
The appointment by Labour Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani was communicated in a Gazette notice dated October 14, 2019.
A good number of Kenyans have however not welcomed the appointment.
A section of Kenyans on Twitter believed the job should have been given to a youth as a way of curbing the growing unemployment rate.
A number of the netizens cited that the former MP was not competent enough for the job and therefore it was a 'mockery' for her to picked for the position.
Some of the social media users went ahead and called for intervention from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
