Police in Nakuru County are holding a female suspect in connection with brewing illicit liquor.
Confirming the incident Bahati OCPD David Koskey said that they raided an illicit brew den at Nyamaruku village in Lanet Bahati Sub-County and arrested a female brewer and netted several liters of the outlawed liquor.
“With combined effort from local chiefs in Bahati APs and Nyumba Kumi Initiative we raided the den at 5a.m in Nyamaruku village arrested a female suspect. We recovered 1000 liters of kangara and 20 liters of changa'aa,” said Koskey.
Koskey thanked the local leaders in the area especially the provincial administration efforts in the fight against the illicit brew.
“I must thank local leaders for their unrelenting struggle in the fight against illicit brew,” said Koskey.
Koskey said that the fight will continue till all dens are closed to save the youth from consumption of the outlawed liquor.
He urged those involving them in the illegal trade to look for other sources of ventures to generate income.
He warned those who will not obey his directive that stern action would be taken against them .
Koskey said that the suspect will be arraigned in court today to answer charges for being in possession of illicit liquor.
