According to Principal Magistrate Thomas Obutu, Samuel Ong'ou will be held at Koru Police station until on Tuesday at 3pm pending police investigations.

Kisumu High court principal prosecution counsel, Lazarus Sirtuy had earlier presented two affidavits written by investigation police officers Japheth Kimutai and John Nyangar against the accused.

Sirtuy urged the court to put Ong'ou under police custody for fear of not cooperating with the police adding that he proved to be difficult prior to his arrest.

He argued that, where there are compelling reasons, like in this case, the court should decline a cash bail for the accused.

Sirtuy added that the majority leader and his brother Jack Ong'ou allegedly mobilised youth yesterday morning at his home in Awasi, who attacked two Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission officers.

Principal prosecution counsel said that the said EACC officers are in hospital nursing their injuries.

The accused’s lawyer Richard Onsongo, said Ong'ou is undergoing treatment and requires constant medical attention according to a medical report he submitted before the court.

Onsongo said the Ong'ou is willing to present himself at the police station daily for investigations.

The magistrate said the case will be mentioned on May 26 this year.
