Speaking on Wednesday, the leader backed the push for an expanded executive, noting that there is dire need for the second runners up in presidential elections to be accommodated in government or the parliament.

He cited Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga who lost to President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2017 polls and is now completely outside the government, despite garnering over 6 million votes.

The leader who hails from the ODM party compared the former Prime Minister Aden Duale, who is the National Assembly Majority Leader, despite garnering more less than 10, 000 votes to become the Garissa Township MP.

"Aden Duale akipata kura elfu sita na ndiye majority leader na Raila ambaye alikuwa na kura milioni saba anamangamanga kule nje hana mtu wa kuzungumzia," he said on Radio Citizen's Jungu Kuu on Wednesday night.

This translates to; "Duale who got 6000 votes is the majority leader while Raila who had 7 million votes is wandering outside without anyone to lead," he told Kamau Munyua.

Under the leadership of Raila, a section of politicians have been pushing for the changes which also seek to revert the country to the initial parliamentary system of governance.

The changes that seem to enjoy the support of President Uhuru Kenyatta who has repeatedly called for changes to eliminate the current winner takes it all arrangement.
