The pandemonium that was witnessed at the Finance ministry early this week has caused unrest inside DP Ruto’s political bastion.
It is crystal clear that a section of Uasin Gishu leaders has condemned the arrest of Henry Rotich amid graft allegations.
This has irrigated flexing of muscles among DP Ruto’s ardent supporters.
Besides, most of the government officials who were arrested in relation to the Kimwarer and Arror dam saga hail from the DP’s home ground.
This is brewing unrest in the region because some leaders have openly attacked the president for what they term as a selective application of the law.
The attacks are pouring in despite DP Ruto frequently maintaining that he is a proud deputy of Uhuru. That gives locals unrest because some of their leaders condemn the president while the DP praises him.
Kapseret lawmaker Oscar Sudi who is an astute defender of DP Ruto openly condemned the head of state and even dared him to resign.
He said CS Rotich had been used and dumped and that the war on graft is being applied selectively.
It is clear how most of DP Ruto’s fans here are dissatisfied with Rotich’s arrest.

Uasin Gishu is the home turf of DP Ruto and the fact that Rotich hails from the neighbouring Elgeyo Marakwet has stirred total unrest among locals.
There are those who feel that DP’s allies are being targeted in the graft war while others maintain that every graft suspect should carry his\her own cross.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen also condemned Rotich’s arrest terming it political propaganda.
The leaders who are condemning Rotich’s arrest command a notable section of locals thus can convince them to feel that DP Ruto’s camp has been sidelined.
