Speaking on Friday, they told the George Kinoti led institution to stop playing games with an intention of covering up on Ruto's alleged murder scheme by employing arbitrary arrests.

This follows the arrest of State House Digital Director Denis Itumbi who is being accused of drafting a letter suggesting that some top state officials from Central Kenya are after Ruto's life.

Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa stressed on the need for the DCI to focus on the real issue, which is the alleged assassination planners, and stop investigating letters.

"Instead of DCI investigating individuals who talked ill of the Deputy President, they are now focusing their attention on the letter," stated the Kimilili legislator.

His remarks were echoed by Sirisia MP John Waluke who claimed that the entire issue is a plot to block Ruto's presidency in the 2022 polls, which, he said, will not succeed.

He said that no amount of victimization and manipulation will stop the DP from realising his goal which is to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“We want to tell DCI that even if they arrest all the allies of the Deputy President, they will not succeed in stopping the presidency of Dr Ruto. Those planning to assassinate the Deputy President should know that God is watching them and that they will not be in office forever,” he said.

The leaders spoke when they accompanied the DP to Sirisia, Bungoma County and Teso South in Busia, in functions also attended by Bumula MP Mwamu Mabonga.

Other leaders present included Janet Nangabo (Trans Nzoia Woman Representative), Kabuchai MP James Mukwe and Geoffrey Omuse (Teso South).

On his side, Ruto called upon Kenyans to engage in developmental issues. He steered clear of the assassination plot debate.
