Wangusi, who has vowed to remain in office until the court decides his fate, said that a senior official in the government had called him, asking for funding but he said no.

He said that person was a Permanent Secretary and he wanted to secure a deal with him. Wangusi also said that he had received similar requests during his reign in power but he never agreed with any of them.

He also said that working at CA has taught him enough lessons, adding that he is better place to make good decisions in life because of the challenges he faced during his tenure in office.

“It has been an eventful 8 years for me and I have worked in the telecommunications industry for 37 years, so I have seen it from infancy to where it is today,” he said, as quoted by Standard.

He also said that he had worked at CA for a long period, adding that he was getting tired with the endless jobs at his disposal.

Wangusi was appointed in 2011 and worked for eight years before he was replaced. He has, however, said that he will quit after the court determines his case.
