High Court advocate Ambrose Weda has claimed that Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut)Secretary General Wilson Sossion has his links with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party to blame for his woes.
The SG was on Friday last week ousted over misconduct and his place given to his deputy Hesbone Otieno, only hours before the Employment and Labour Relations court reinstated him temporarily.
But Weda now says that the ODM nominated MP could be a victim of some persons afraid that his links could shift teachers towards the opposition, resulting in a plot to push him out and bringing in a more friendly person.
"He is a worker, Knut has been strong and vibrant. It seems some people are afraid that his political affiliation could sway the teachers towards the opposition," he said on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation on Wednesday.
He also linked Sossion's troubles to a possible plot to disable the trade union, which has been a thorn in the flesh of the Education Ministry, by kicking out the man appearing to be the most vicious.
Weda said that the plan could be to further divide the union between forces in support and opposed to Sossion, observing that the ultimate loser will the the education sector and pupils and students.
"It could be a plan to further divide it the same way it was divides into Knut and Kuppet. It is to use his exit to bring down Knut, but its wrong; it will hurt our education," he added.
After his reinstatement, the SG extended an ploce branch to those seeking his exit, expressing his willingness to engage the government and working with the rival group.
