A school principal in Tharaka Nithi county has issued a 'strange' notice to his teachers concerning heavy drinking of alcohol that has been witnessed in the school.
In his internal memo to the teachers, the principal of St. Teresa Kanthanje Secondary School Mr Godfrey Muthengi complained about drunk teachers who use abusive language and even displaying unbecoming behavior.
He also complained and condemned teachers who elope with spouses of others after taking alcohol.
"Some teachers are engaging in heavy consumption of alcohol at Kanthanje market or elsewhere" the part of the memo read.
The school principal also noted that teachers consume alot onions 'kachumbari' in the school kitchen.
In his memo dated 7th November, the principal advised teachers to avoid inappropriate conduct that demeans the image of school.
" Staff members are adviced to desist from this inappropriate conduct which can demean or tarnish the image of the school" rest of the memo read.
The school principal reacted after receiving many complains about uncouth behaviour of teachers.
