Reaching that point of fame and fortune was never easy as she revealed during an exclusive interview aired on KTN news on Friday morning.

In the interview, the songbird recounted the struggles that she had to grapple with on her way to the top.

The struggle included trekking, going without food and being paid peanuts.

"There were days we trekked, we stayed without food. I was not paid for so many events. I did a lot of free events. Actually I was paid 5 thousand and I am known in this country, " she said. (4:40-4:47)

In spite of the many challenges that came her way, she never gave up; she kept keeping on.

Thanks to her endurance now she gets to tour across the world being among the most booked Kenyan artiste.

In the interview, she said that the undoing of many upcoming artistes in Kenya is that they want things to work out for them overnight.
