Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has sought to set the records straight regarding his dalliance with Deputy President William Ruto.
In an exclusive interview with the Nation, the lawmaker rubbished claims that he is working with the DP for financial gains.
He stated that he was already financially stable long before he met the DP, which proves those saying he is being paid to follow the DP wrong.
Nyoro, one of the most vocal Ruto supporters from the Mt Kenya region, said that actually, he is spending more to follow Ruto.
“I bought my house, where I currently live, in 2011. I ran my politics when I did not know Dr Ruto. In fact, I spent more following him,” he said in the interview published on Sunday.
He said that were it for money, then he would be supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta, who he said is richer than the DP.
The MP hinted that his dalliance with Ruto is about ideologies, noting that he is not seeing politics as an opportunity to enrich oneself.
“But then again, between Dr Ruto and the President, who has more money? If it were about money, we would be following the wrong person. Politics is not an economic activity," he added.
