An elected Member of Parliament in Nyamira County has defended Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i over the deplorable state of Manga police station in Borabu.

Borabu MP Ben Momanyi said Matiang'i is not responsible for the construction of police stations but coordinate matters security in the country. 

"People should stop dragging along Cs Matiang'i into the bad state of Manga police station. I am a responsible person people should ask why I have not built Manga police station. Matiang'i does not build police stations," said the second-term legislator. 

According to the Wiper Party allied lawmaker, it is his work to ensure police stations are built in the constituency.

He warned critics against taking advantage of the condition of infrastructure at Manga police station to unfairly condemn Matiang'i.  

"That is my work. I have already allocated money for the construction of Manga police station. I urge people and critics to give Matiang'i a break over the deplorable state of the police station," Momanyi stated. 

MP Momanyi of the recent days has been defending Matiang'i from criticism. Cs Matiang'i hails from Borabu constituency. 

The lawmaker is keen to run for Nyamira county gubernatorial bid in 2022 once Governor John Nyagarama completes his second and final term in 2022.
