The decision, which came over a month before the expiry of the tenure of the current ministers, now means the Governor effectively sacked his entire cabinet.

In an advertisement on the county's website, Nyagarama ended speculations that had engulfed county offices, with sources intimating that a number of ministers were to go down.

All interested people for the cabinet slots have until October 11th to make formal applications to the Ad-hoc committee which is responsible for recommendations.

An insider, who did not wish to be mentioned, said the governor had terminated contracts of two ministers whose names still remain a closely guarded secret.

"I understand that two of them will not apply. The governor dismissed them. He in other words ended his relationship with them," said the source.

But an official within the communication department said that the governor only announced vacancies paving way for fresh recruitment.

"I don't think there are two who were asked not to reapply. Everyone is at liberty to try again for his or her luck in the next cabinet," the official said.

A former aide, who did not wish to be named, said the governor was guided by the assembly to call for early application ahead of fresh recruitment.

"It's technical sacking because many expected it end month. But the assembly wants those slots filled before the expiry of contracts," he said.
