“We are going to buy land in Muhoroni, Nyakach, Nyando and Seme sub-counties to allow for public universities to set up major campuses in Kisumu,” said Kere.

Kere also said that the county government was going to sign a contract with public universities, which will build campuses in the county to see into how collaboration between the county government and them could work.

“The county government came up with the resolution after we realized that many public universities lack space for opening up campuses in Kisumu,” she said.

“My ministry came up with a proposal to buy land and build campuses in collaboration with the public universities so that we can have all the public universities in Kisumu,” added the CeC.
