The MCA said it is needless to form a regional body, adding that they should just stick to the County Assemblies Forum.

Ogosi noted that the Forum, since its formation, has really helped MCAs, adding that even their salaries have been increased, noting that when they came into office, they were earning Sh79,200 before taxations, but they are now earning a basic salary of Sh123,000, plus other allowances.

Speaking in Kisumu on Monday, Ogosi has cautioned fellow MCAs against forming parallel forums to fight for their rights, saying that will make them weak and reduce their bargaining power.

He further urged the MCAs not to lose focus, adding that they still have even greater battle of car grants, which they are still demanding for from the government.

Ogosi observed that Members of Parliament receive Sh7 million-car grant, adding that they too, should be entitled to that since they do similar jobs.

“Senators, MPs are entitled to huge sum of car grants and are even assured of their pensions, even us we must be given this,” said Ogosi.
