Residents of Githurai were on Saturday left in deep shock after a Thika bound bus caught fire on the busy Thika Super-highway.

The video, which has been shared on several platforms shows residents gathering around the bus. The accident occurred at the overpass of the highway. 

It remains unclear whether the passengers were inside the bus at the time it burst into flames. 

Motorists and other users have been asked to keep off the highway pending probe into the matter.

Firefighters with extinguishers could be seen attempting to put out the fire.
