The parents from Kamiruri village are complaining of one of the headteachers who registers top students from private schools to sit for their exams in the public primary, as a way of improving the school’s mean score and performance.

According to Samuel Wanja, a parent at the school, the headteacher has been doing this for some years now, going as far as registering students with his own money in order for the school to remain relevant in the region.

"This is what has been happening for years now, teachers from Muringa are hungry from something. They just want to reap where they didn’t sow. The school performs poorly and that is why at the end there are kids from private schools to cover them up so as not to be known by the ministry," said Wanja.

Another community activist member Francis Njenga said that the head teacher needs to be punished since the community does not benefit from his behavior.

"This has to come to an end, someone has to be answerable to it. The pupils will get the vacancies of the local people and the community will never benefit at all. We have to stand for our rights, Kaimenyi will have this by Monday morning, I tell the culprits be warned," said Njenga.
